Soundproofing a Loft Apartment

Our client, Paul, who lived in an open-plan loft apartment, wanted to create a ‘quiet room’ that he could retreat to for R&R, completely isolated from the outside world.

It was critical to Paul that the space fitted-in with the existing aesthetic, originally designed by renowned architect, Eva Jiricna.

Additonally, we designed and installed a floor-to-ceiling shelving unit, which served to create a separate study area, without diminishing the open flow of the apartment.

Finally, we supplied and fitted a floating floor system, utilising sanded and polished concrete-impregnated floorboards, providing a striking architectural feature, whilst notably reducing impact and airborne sound passage via the party floor.
